At Purpose CPA, we envision a world where all businesses are conscious businesses and people, planet and profit go hand-in-hand. And where does our tiny accounting firm fit into this? We just keep doing good things ourselves and provide great accounting services to our clients so that we may gain the trust and opportunity to help do them the same.
Last year was our first year of operations and we made plenty of positive impact in the community. Lots happened in the world in the past two years and no one would blame us for taking a breather this year. For new businesses like ourselves, there are many competing priorities to ensure we can care for our clients, staff, and families. Impact and feel-good activities often takes a step back. As Advisors for our clients, we are goal seekers and action setters. Earlier this year, we set our annual impact goals and we are pleased to achieve the following in 2021:
Funded microfinance loans and donated to local non-profits
Helped covid-impacted businesses receive grants from the Small Business Recovery Grant program
Launched Purpose Coaching Grants for Women’s and Black entrepreneurs
Became guest speakers on financial literacy
Certified as a Living Wage Employer
Purchased 15 tonnes of carbon offsets from Less.ca
Achieving B-Corp certification remains our BHAG and we are as close as ever with the latest contributions. We look forward to planning our impact goals next year and reporting back to you soon enough.
